Hi all, we have a swift conqueror 540 2008 model. the MIRO is 1353kg. I understand what this is but I am trying to find out what was included when this was calculated, I am also ok with rule changes in 2010/11, any help appreciated. thanks

It's a reasonable assumption that in 2008 it wouldn't include any allowance for gas, and almost certainly not for a battery.

The actual ex-factory weight could vary quite a bit anyway from the spec, especially if a standard MIRO was used regardless of factory fitted options.

If you are trying to work out the payload allowance to make the most of it, it would be best to weigh it (the caravan).

Don't forget the weight of the mover, if fitted.

Thanks for reply, just ordered mazda cx5 150ps which is quite light and just tips in around 86/87%. I know the power will be there and I can offset some of the payload putting it in the car. just want to make sure I m as optimised as I can be from a safety perspective.

My manual states the weight could be + or - 5%. If your getting close to the limits the only way to know for sure is to weigh it.

Someone wrote into one of the caravan mags saying they got their caravan weighed and shocked to find it weighed far more than the figures in the manual. Instead of having a 200kg+ loading limit they only had 60kg. And the motor mover took most of that. Leaving no spare capacity for personal items.

The 85% recommendation for stability is based on the MTPLM of the caravan not the MIRO.
