I've not bought from them BUT
...make sure you get all the original service books etc and two original keys.
... check all round for dinks esp the doors (In Derby they are parked very close together)
... make sure the car you view IS the car you buy.
...don't expect a discount OR good p/ex ( they tend to give below auction price on most cars.
... don't expect much by way of after-sales
... presumably you are buying nearly new (as that is their speciality) all they will do is tell you to go the main dealer with problems.
...check that the car is not an import ( usually a hire car from Jersey/Guernsey as it may affect insurance.

I know lots of people who have bought from them and are happy but my comments are also based on advice from a reliable 'insider'!
You may well find that their prices can also be seen at some dealerships.

We have recently bought a 16 month old Fiesta from their Widnes branch. We looked at their stock on line beforehand.I can't comment on trade in but the salesman told us straight away that there was no negotiating on price - personally I would prefer to buy this way.
Less than 12k miles and 20 months left on Ford warranty, if there was a problem I think i would prefer to rely on the Ford warranty. The little plugs were missing from the parcel shelf, which stopped it lifting up so they ordered a new shelf there and then. It arrived 2 days later.
We thought the price was competitive - below any dealer cars we could locate. Over all we were very happy with it all - good price, no pressure selling and friendly staff.
This is the first time we have bought from them but have used Fords of Winsford in the past too - they were similar.
Hope this is of use.
Sue

Places like this (motor supermarkets)..???

Research - Research - RESEARCH!!!!!!

You may think you're getting a good deal, but after some digging, you may find the same / similar car cheaper else where...

We bought a six month old Passat for £15,500, miles cheaper than anywhere else. Eighteen months later I am still seeing them selling for more at other dealers. Ours had two and a half years of the VW warranty left, one of the mirrors stopped self parking and was replaced under the VW warranty. If your car has a major fault when you buy it, Motorpoint tend to replace the car. Their profit on each car is roughly £500 so they can't afford to spend big money on repairs.
We would recommend Motorpoint to anyone.

The Motorpoint car sold very quickly so i missed it.
However, I found another one on Auto trader, 160 miles from where I live.
I made them a speculative offer, and negotiated a deal, which i am delighted with.
The ad had only been on Auto trader for an hour, they were happy with a quick sale and a modest margin.

A lot of the car supermarket cars are ex hire cars, I know because the used to park in my yard, the buyer used to come in and buy around 50 cars in one hit.
The retail company used a guy that would do body repairs in the open painting bumpers and everything.
We used to have large car van rental company as part of our group as well, we got the cars dirt cheap with a garunteed buy back from the manufacturer at no more than 9000 miles or 9 months with no damage, lets face it any damage was always charged to the customer.
The difference between the 2 was little making it easy to make a good return.

Bought a number of vehicles from them, no issues and excellent prices and service. Their stock is mainly fleet and factory cars that have been registered. All low mile and usually mint. They give significant savings on some vehicles and have a vast stock. They work on high turnover low margin and get their stock from the same sources as the main dealers. I have bought two Fiestas, an SMax and a new (pre reg) nissan from them. No affiliation just happy to recommend.

One thing about Motorpoint is most of their cars are ex rental. By law when you buy a car from them they are meant to inform you that it was ex rental. If they don't they can be reported and face a heavy fine.

I know this as used to work for them.
