Does anyone tow with a Korando auto, i,v been looking at them and had a test drive but would like the opinions of people who have towed with one, regards.
We tow with a Korando. We bought a 2012 auto 2.0 about 6 months ago and we loved it so much we have just got a new 2.2 version.
We only towed a couple of times with the old one and it was a very nice car for towing but I think the new one will be even better as the torque comes in much earlier. Nose weight is listed as 80 kg which may be a problem for some people. We only do short trips so we didn't get brilliant fuel consumption from the old car, 30 mpg on local use, motorway trips gave around 34/35 mpg and towing we got just under 30 mpg.
We've only had the new car since Friday and so far we have noticed that the engine is quieter than the old one and it drives very nicely as you would expect. You get a lot of equipment with the car such as heated seats and steering wheel which make life more comfortable in the winter. The tow bar offer for Caravan and Motorhome Club members saves quite a bit of money as well.
Not yet, they recommend not towing until you have put at least 500 miles on the clock and as we've only had the car since Friday we are still a few miles short of that. I intend to keep this car a long time so I will follow the instructions and look after the car. So far we have noticed the torque coming in much earlier than on the old car so think it will be even better for towing, they have also changed the auto box and Ssangyong say this one is much better than the old box.
