Buying a Skoda Yeti and just wondered if any of you on here could tell me how they tow? It's a 1.6 Diesel
Had a Mondeo but FAILED the MOT miserably and will be too expensive to fix up
Thanks for any feed back

A lot will depend on the weight of caravan you're towing with a 1.6 diesel as a light 2 berth is going to much easier than say a heavy 4 berth.
What engine was in the Mondeo?

2 ltr cr diesel 4x4, will tow up to 1600kg with ease, 80kg lowball weight, with 38 towing up to 64 solo, I expect the 1.6 will tow a max of 1400

The weight matches but i was wondering if anyone had towed with the Yeti. We were going for the Golf but access is to low for me to get in and out comfortably due to a spine injury.

Love my Yeti, now on the second. Towing our 1000kg van with the 140hp engine and DSG gearbox is delightful. With a 110hp manual shift, I was a little frustrated with the lack of oomph; overtaking a truck travelling at 56mph was possible but a struggle; that may be because I wasn't used to towing a caravan.

The 1.6 diesel is rated at 105hp, so I'd expect it's similar to the first we had. Possible yes, safe yes, it's a great piece of kit; but you might want a bit more power.

We have a 2 litre dsg 4x4 170 bhp Yeti and tow a caravan with max weight of 1380kg. It tows really well and has plenty of power but can't comment on a 1.6 manual.

We tow our Lunar Stellar two berth ( 1200 kg) with a 1.2 petrol dsg , 110 bhp and it's brilliant! We brought the van and were intending to swap for a diesel Yeti but after towing it home 150 miles, lots of hills , it really surprised us how effortlessly it towed we decided to keep it 😊 Fuel consumption is only mid to high twenties but quite happy with that as not towing we get well over 55 on a run , we keep the awning in the car to add extra weight and it goes beautifully , love the`Yeti 😊 Such a shame they are being discontinued 😟

I'm now on my second Yeti. First was a 140 4x4 that I sold after doing 110k miles and replaced with a 150 4x4.

Both tow beautifully. They are very stable, even at French motorway speeds, due to the short overhang on the rear axle, and are surprisingly economical, both towing and solo.

You could buy a 1,6 and get it tuned, from 105 to 140 bhp for under £200, giving better mpg and performance, just let your insurer know, most don't charge

Went back to the dealers today and have now bought a 2 year old 2.0 Mondeo diesel
Have a Mondeo now that we have owned for nearly 11 years and it's been a great tow car.
