Hi, we are supposed to be going away this Saturday down to the New Forest area and they are forecasting winds of between 40 and 50 miles an hour, I think we should wait until Sunday when it's calmed down. Would you tow a caravan in these winds? Thanks

I agree with Opensauce (above post) but if you have a pitch booked and paid a deposit then as a matter of courtesy I would just give the campsite a ring just to let them know. This is for two reasons, firstly so they know you haven't been involved in an accident and secondly they don't vacate the pitch to someone else because you haven't explained your dilemma.

I done it once, id say i had no choice but i did as nobody needs to do something thats not safe. Anyway i set of in 55mph winds, was ok on the side roads but as soon as i joined the motorway that was a different story. It was an experience that i never want to repeat, I did however make it to my destination with out any incidents,and ready for a drink.

Well we delayed it for a day, went Sunday after it had calmed down didn't want to travel in the winds especially as it was nearly all motorway, better to be safe especially as we were bringing our two granddaughters with us.
