These are the SUVs that were most likely to fail that first MoT test, with all models built in 2013 and taking their first test in 2016.

1. SsangYong Korando – 75.0% pass rate
2. Chevrolet Captiva – 76.0% pass rate
3. Vauxhall Antara – 76.6% pass rate
4. Land Rover Defender 110 – 77.0% pass rate
5. Dacia Duster – 79.9% pass rate
6. Mitsubishi Outlander – 80.6% pass rate
7. Volvo XC90 – 81.5% pass rate
8. Renault Captur – 82.0% pass rate
9. Mitsubishi Shogun
10. Land Rover Discovery – 83.6% pass rate

Surveys like this are meaningless. Reading through the link most of the failures are brakes or lights which are normal service items. Most owners of cars 3yrs old will have had them main dealer serviced & at 3rd yr will most likely have service & mot together. Any worn out service parts will be replaced before mot is carried out so failure will not be an issue.

A car cannot be judged good or bad or better than the opposition if it fails mot on worn out brakes or blown bulbs at 3yrs old with no clue as to it's service history or use.

thats why i drive one said LR.
love it, pull anything go anywhere.
And to be honest it's been wear and tear that i have replaced and would have done on any car.
Looking for one of the last D4 to buy.
Hate the new discovery.
