We have a 2007 Conway Cruiser. Anyone know anything about the Dacia Logan MCV towing weights? There are two petrol engines and a diesel available. We're trying to avoid diesel as we don't usually do much mileage on a weekly basis, which causes problems with the particulate filter. Any views on what the petrol engines are like? I think the max gross weight for a Conway Cruiser is 750 kg. Thanks
According to the website the kerbweights for the 1.0 and 0.9 versions are 980 and 1071kg respectively and these weights do not include the driver. Both models have a max tow around 800kg when the car is fully loaded. These details refer to the current model so if you are considering an older vehicle the figures may be different.
I think you might find the car a bit underpowered especially on the hills but if towing is only a small percentage of your annual mileage it might be worth putting up with it. I wonder if there is a Dacia owners forum that might give you some more specific advice, might be worth joing and asking a few questions there.
Theres no problems with dpf on current diesels. Technology does not stand still. The 90bhp Renault diesel is a well proven unit. It will tow 900kg no probs. It will be your best bet if you want to tow.
Acording to spec kerb weight excluding driver of diesel version is 1090kg. Gross train weight which is max allowed weight of loaded car & loaded trailer is 2480kg. This means you can tow your fully laden trailer 900kg & have load margin on car of 490kg so more than enough for a couple of people & gear.
