Just a thought for now, we are considering a larger caravan possibly Lunar Clubman sb4 if we go ahead we will need a larger car too so it all gets a bit expensive. I have researched various cars and I like the Citroen C5 estate, there are two 2.0 ltr diesel models 160 bhp with 340 nm torque has a kerb weight of 1595kg and max tow 1670kg. the other is 138bhp 320 nm torque kerb weight 1655kg max tow 1800kg.
Has anyone any experience of either of these or can offer advice on which is best to go for

If you used parkers to get those towing weights then double check them.

The max tow maybe 1800kg but with a fully loaded car the max tow maybe 1670kg. Check the chassis plate and logbook before you buy the car.

Personally i would want a heavier towcar, your over 90% with either.

I may be wrong, but seem to recall that C5 estates have a particularly low towball limit, think I've seen 67kg mentioned. At least worth double checking before buying.

Probably depends on which suspension it comes with, some have a standard spring/shock setup and some have the pneumatic suspension.
