Have you already been?
If not, from Newtown head towards the A470 from Llangurig and Rhayader. The road out of Newtown towards LLandrindod Wells is quite narrow and hilly. Also, avoid the Newbridge on Wye to Beulah shortcut. Best follow the A470 to Builth Wells and take a right towards Llandovery and the A40. Once on the A40 it's plain sailing all the way to Tenby.
