I don't know about the Abbey Piper specifically, but most caravan fridges can be switched to run off mains electrics, gas or 12V battery. The latter would include the car electrics.
Our fridge (made by Electrolux and used in most if not all caravans of a similar age) has a red illuminated switch for the 12V, a green one for the mains and a push button for the gas - it's pretty easy to see which is which.
Your caravan will most likely have 2 leads that can connect to car electrics - one black and one grey. The black one powers the road lights (so obviously must be connected), the grey includes the fridge, internal lights and other features that can be powered by 12V electrics.
To plug both leads in you'll need twin electric sockets on your towbar, or you can buy adapters from places like Halfords or Towsure.
The final thing to bear in mind is that your car electrics probably won't be powerful enough to cool the fridge down - they'll only keep it cool if it's already cold. If you need to tow with the fridge cool you'll need to run it for a while (probably overnight) on either mains electrics or gas first.
