I have a Peugeot 208 1.2 puretech 82 3dr Peugeot I'm looking at getting an Elddis explore 304 2015 caravan will my car have enough power and be safe to tow it.
As mentioned above you need to know the weights of the car and caravan. Check the handbook, the V5 and the weight plate on the car. You may find that the car is not type approved for towing so can't tow anything. Peugeot cars tend to have very low nose weight limits so check that too.
Without the exact model details I can't guess at the vehicle weight but some 208 models weigh less than 1000kg so that would limit any trailer to 850 kg or less.
82bhp petrol? Not enough power to pull over a tonne. You should have got the diesel version of the car. With the car you have I would be looking at Freedom caravans. About 750kg fully laden. Or Eriba Puck.
A modern caravan - even a small one - is likely to weigh at least a tonne when loaded and that's just too much for 1.2 litres and 82bhp to manage in addition to the weight of the car itself.
You need to check the engine plate of the car and/or the V5 for a maximum towing limit. If no limit is given, this means that the car is not approved for towing at all. If a limit is given, this cannot legally be exceeded.
If changing the car isn't an option then, as Opensauce has suggested, a 'micro-caravan' such as Freedom or Eriba, or alternatively a folding camper or trailer tent may still be an option for you.
