We tow our Lunar Ariva with a Citroeon Picasso Desire 1.6 Petrol engine car. Unfortunately it broke and cannot be repaired. Therefore we need a new car.

We don't want to buy a diesel car as we do very little towing. Can anyone recommend a petrol car which will tow it. Looking for a small SUV type car or cross-over.

Thanks,

What is the MTPLM of the caravan? How big is your budget? Are you thinking of new or used cars?

In the meantime would a Berlingo do the job? How about a Mokka, or a newer Picasso or a 3008? Come back with some more information and we can make some sensible suggestions?

Rob

Thank you - the MTPLM is 990kg. Our budget is approx. £12,000, used car but hopefully 16 or 17 plate. We would want a petrol car too.   We did look at both a Mokka and a Peugeot 2008, but weren't sure if the petrol versions were powerful enough to tow it.

The Mokka turbo petrol is supposed to be ok as I mentioned in the other thread. The 2008 with the 1.6 petrol might be ok but the newer petrol models only have a 1.2 engine, they all have a low nose weight as mentioned in the other thread.

How about a C Max, higher seating position etc but cheapish to run?

Rob
