to get onto M40 or A40 from where we live (north west suburb of Luton). We always avoid it as all the roundabouts are a nightmare. Has anyone done it and if so, how did you find it? On M40 yesterday, off at J15 onto A46/A45/M45/M1, satnav was trying to send us Aylesbury way.
It has got nothing to with the length! it's more about tightness when towing a twin axle.

------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I'm glad I don't tow a twin axle caravan if you have certain limitations wondering if certain towns are suitable or not. However, if lorries can get through then I can't see why a confident experienced caravanner can't either.
I've towed my 7m ( although single axle ) van through Aylesbury on several occasions. It's not that bad but it can get incredibly snarled up and busy and I would avoid it completely if anywhere near rush hours or school chucking out times . If quiet though it can save miles and be pretty quick and fairly easy.
Certainly agree, Ray.
Far more stable going forward and a doddle to reverse. I think that in the 10 years since I've had mine I have had to use the mover twice to get on a pitch. Only use the mover to line up the Al-Ko lock.

i have towed our 7 m van through aylesbury a couple of times, - i used the a41 and come in from the m25/ watford side...
the alternative is to use the routes around the town, so from the m40 i use bicester junction head off towards waddeston and then stoke mandeville and then head across to the a41 towards via raf halton and rejoin a41 near berkhamstead ...
