Hello, I am being given a Gobur Carousel 12/2 TD folding caravan. I am not sure of the age but I suspect 1987 - I am attaching a photo of one I have found the same on the internet. I know nothing about towing and have spent hours looking to find out if this Carousel is braked. I am going to look for a new car anyway so want to make sure that I can tow it. I am thinking of a Skoda Rapid 1.6 TDi. Apart from its weight I also don't know at the moment about the specific size, so that I know if I can keep it in front of my house or if it's too big. If anyone has any information about these folding caravans I would be so grateful. If there is somewhere to get a manual too that would be very helpful. Thanks, Jo
Have you checked the previous posts? some might be of use to you.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Thanks Navver I have but they don't have a manual. My garage has a mechanic whose Dad specialises in caravans so that's good. I will check with Gobur about spare parts. I would be happy to pay to have a manual photocopied and posted or scanned if anyone has one. 1987 Carousel 12/2 TD. Going to measure up Friday to see if it will fit in front of my house. If not I have found a very local storage place. My stepson can't get the locking wheel nut off and may need to change the wheel so that's next on the list but getting there!
The manual won't tell you much about the Gobur. All caravan manuals are very generic
For equipment, you can get most of what you want online just by googling each piece of equipment such as toilet, water heater, ZIG electric control panel, fridge, cooker etc. They are all standard components which were used in many different caravans etc.
