We are currently looking at moving from a folding caravan to a more solid offering. Is there a way of finding a list of what lightweight caravans there are that are 3/4 berth?

Towcar is a Kia Sportage 1.7 CRDi so caravan needs to be below 1200kg and looks like towball limit will cause us some issues as well.

Any help much appreciated.

Best option google local dealers and see what they have in stock that you like the look of and match the weight.

We could say yes your ideal van is xyz but the chance of finding one for sale will be slim to none.

My vans under 1200kg, but shes an old girl now and we have owned her for almost 20 years. Time for a change. But it suits out needs so well.

Decent size rear bathroom, side diner, 6ft+ front seating.

We had a similar problem a little while ago, we've since changed the car and caravan.
If you search on the CaravanFinder website, under advanced search you can enter the maximum weight. You can also select minimum berth, this will bring up the range of vans available. One thing I would watch is the width of the van. We found that some of the lighter models were a few inches narrower making for a cramped bed at the front (this was especially true of the Adria).

We had a Lunar Quasar 464 which was 4 berth and even had a separate shower cubicle. It was 1,235kg which was just over the 1,200kg we could tow. I was very careful with what I loaded into it and took it to a weigh bridge to ensure it was under 1,200kg. This approach doesn't suite most people but it worked for us. As long as you stay under the maximum weight your car can tow it doesn't matter what your caravan can weigh only what it actually does weigh. (I was confident doing this as my car was a 7 seater, it was only a low towing weight due to the engine size [eco version] - you need to ensure you take note of the kerb weight of the car and gross train weight too).
