I'm considering buying a 2013 Sorrento or Santa Fe, which I know are mechanically identical (prefer the look of the SF). I have had a 2009 SF before and it was very good but I've read a 'professional' review saying that the newer SF (and I assume that means the Sorrento as well) does not perform well in reliability terms (based on Warranty Direct data).
Anyone have/had one and had any major issues?

We currently have a 17 plate Santa Fe and have had no issues with it, previous car was a 14 plate Sorento, which suffered a power steering failure and on our 11 plate Santa Fe suffered the same failure, plus electric window failure. All the faults were covered by the warranty, and repaired without too much inconvenience. We have found both car makes to be excellent tow cars and used solo are very economical.
Same here had a13 plate now a 17 plate and no issues with either. Both tow well.current one is packed with technological goodies. Keep finding new things to play with. Both Sant Fe.
I have a 14 reg Santa Fe. It tows my twin-axle fine and is generally an excellent car.
However, I have had a complete new gearbox/4wd system fitted due to the 4wd system failing, rear camera replaced, and a rear shocker replaced.
It is about to come to the end of the 5 year warranty, so it is going in for a final check!
Had Sorento Auto and now Santa fe Auto and both excellent tow cars plenty of towing power and reliable. Before these I bought a brand new Landrover Discovery and back in dealers for new transfer box at 6 days old, then just out of warranty main gearbox replaced and then turbo. The worst motor I have bought in my life. Both the Sorento and Santa fe costing thousands less far superior.
