I’ve been a member on this forum now for 13 years and as a rule I think it’s great, you can always find what you need there are always people willing to help if you have a problem and the banter is good as well.
But it really grates me when people come on here ask a question, get loads of people spending their time writing post to help them with whatever query & they never respond back, for me if someone is willing to help me I say
Thank you it’s not hard, to me it’s considered polite
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I couldn't agree more but find that newbies are usually guilty of that more than anyone. I replied to a recent thread and spent about 15 minutes searching for an accelerator cable for a Ford Transit van and found the right year and it was available too. I entered a link for them but the newbie just posted the same question again on another thread without a word of thanks. It's just ignorance but at the end of the day they just don't deserve the help.
Yep i've done it countless times, The other day i had to wait until i got on my works PC to get some extra info, and nothing they actualy posted 3 seperate questions and nothing on any of them.

A thank you should be compulsory on pain of death or something even worse, it doesn't take much effort.
Ann it is good to know that the Mother Theresa course is now paying dividends
It does not bother me as they can take or leave any advice offered by myself and I do not expect a thank you as modern society is not equipped to deal with those two words!
I agree with all the above comments and also feel that manners seem to be a thing of the past now days which is a shame when you think in the old days if you didn't show respect to your parents a thick ear was usually the result,,, bring back the birch is say and allow teachers to use the cane that would bring them into line double quick!

sadly its because those people are allowed to get away without any manners being shown and not being pulled up about it esp on the likes of facebook, and to a persons face, lets face it , its not as if a please and a thankyou would cost them anything
