Fitted a tow bar to my van so that I can to put all the awnings and kitchen sink in when towing the caravan. Tackling the elecs at the moment. Van has canbus wiring so fitted a bypass relay etc on the 12n and 12s and having lots of fun trying to route 3 12v feeds off the van battery :-/
Now need to wire in the audible buzzer. Should it be fitted on the indicator circuits after the 12n bypass relay. I am assuming so but we all know what assumption is ;-)
If it has a switched relay to the towbar electrics with its own 12v supply would a failed bulb warning still come up on the dash display though. One of the reasons for the switched relay is to avoid false failed bulb warnings on the dash I think?

You don't need an audible buzzer with most canbus systems these days.
The problem though is that the OP has fitted a by-pass system and therefore it is more than likely that all the normal systems that will work with a properly reprogrammed CanBus system won't work correctly now.
That is certainly true of the newer VAG range vehicles, as several Yeti owners have found!

Unlikely, as the trailer electrics are now only connected through a relay powered system so the CanBus bulb failure system no longer properly "sees" them.
All wired up and tested. Tested it before I fitted an audible buzzer and lo and behold there is a buzzer on it already
The 3 12v feeds were 2 for the switched relay to 12n and 1 for the relay to 12s. Not sure why it requires 2 for the switched relay? Just followed the instructions

That is certainly the case with VAG vehicles.
This is exactly the setup on my Mitsubishi with the manufacturer's wiring harness. It all works fine without a buzzer.
