I have a tow bar mounted MaxxRaxx cantelever type bike rack which is great, but I always struggle to attach the light board and end up with loads of guy ropes tied to various bits of the bikes, which is time consuming and not always very secure. Anyone got any tips for doing a proper, repeatable job?
On our dinghy trailers we use the gudgeon and pintle which is normally used to attach the rudder to the boat when sailing. The board just drops onto them.
The maxxraxx has a dedicated place for the light board and a security cable that locks it in place, have a look on the maxxraxx website at their video on how to load the bikes.
Thanks kp. I don't have the MaxxRaxx hanger, so that looks like a good investment. Do you have one and if so does it stay still? It looks like it might pivot, but I guess not if it fits tightly into the rack.
I have the maxxraxx premier 4 bike rack in a maxxraxx bag complete with light board, I have only used it once but yes the light board does stay still, I have mine up for sale if anyone is interested for £170
