No simple answer to this question, it depends on the kerbweight of the car, the towing limit of the car, the MTPLM of the caravan and the power of the car. It may be possible but without knowing any further details I would think that it may not be a great match and might be quite hard work to tow at a reasonable speed. A diesel would be a better proposition.
Assuming you have a 1.6 petrol car at the moment check the weights in the handbook and V5 and check the weight plate on the car, come back with the weights and we can give you a better answer.

It's like asking how long is a piece of string..
Without knowing what your car can safely tow leagally as well as how much umph! it's got no one can answer as it's all guess work..
I can say though I used to tow with a 1.6 petrol Skoda Felicia a two berth van from Norfolk to the very tip of Scotland without any problems and did it for nine years on the trot doing around three hundred miles each day of our journey up there and the same coming back.

It's not so much a simple question, it's more a question lacking sufficient detail to be able to answer it!
Need either the car model, or engine power & car weight AND caravan weight to even come close to giving a hint of a meaningful answer. Sorry!
For what it's worth, I tow a 4 berth van with a 1.2 litre petrol engine, but that churns out 130bhp & 230Nm torque, both car and van are relatively light, van MTPLM 1310kg. I did a lot of number crunching before buying the van to ensure the outfit was usable, I'm very happy with the combination. It's not dramatically quick off the line, but it's no liability either, it'll cruise in 6th gear, overtake lorries at a respectable rate, climb every hill I've thrown at it (Wales & Cumbria, so not exactly flat!), and seems more than willing to try and break the national speed limit for a solo car let alone a car-trailer (no I don't drive it that fast, but it's willing!), it also returns around 30mpg average, so obviously I'm not thrashing it to the red line all the time to get/keep it rolling.
So as a kind of answer, maybe! - worth throwing some proper numbers at us to get a more specific answer.

Yes as others have said you need the relevant figures. Many years ago I used to tow a 5 berth Sprite Musketeer with a 1.5 litre Mk2 Cortina, and we travelled all over with that outfit with no problems at all. So the short answer to your question is yes.
However, that's not the end of the story. For one thing the Sprite was probably lighter than a modern equivalent, and for another, cars tended to be much lower geared than they are today. The Cortina without the caravan was probably flat out at about 85mph, with the engine screaming!
------------- Best Regards,
Colin

A 2 berth caravan alone isn't really much of a description to go on without any figures to base on in order make an accurate calculation. A small Freedom caravan is a 2 berth which is going to be much lighter than other 2 berth models (depending on layout) which can be much heavier. You need to be more specific with the kerbweight of the car to be offered any further advice regarding a suitable match.

Wow! That's interesting. We're trying to get away from diesel to tow our Gobur Carousel folding caravan. What car are you using?
