I’ve had breakdown cover through my bank account for several years but I’m considering changing accounts so am looking for alternative cover. I have previously been with the RAC but the quote from Green Flag is very much cheaper. Has anyone had experience of the service from Green Flag, and do you know whether they would recover a dog as well as people?
I am a member but have never needed them, but the following is from their T&C's
WHAT ABOUT ANIMALS?
If you break down and there are animals
with you, we’ll have to decide whether or
not we can arrange transportation for them
based on the circumstances at the time.
If we decide that we can, we can’t be held
liable for anything that happens to them.
We won’t transport horses or livestock.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
We have used them a few times, once we had our dog with us. The driver was happy for her to sit on my knee in the cab. Luckily not too big a dog and well behaved!
They recovered our old Range Rover a couple of times as we have comprehensive cover.
My Saab developed a fuel leak in London, the mechanic was out quickly and diagnosed the fault but was unable to get the part on Saturday afternoon.
He towed us to my nephew's place, we then had a recovery back to home in Shropshire on Sunday.
Another truck came and took the car to our local independent the next day once I had booked it in.
Guess I had my money's worth!
No complaints about their service.

Hi Guys. Yes of course we will gladly take your dearest k9s.
Most drivers will turn a blind eye and let them in the cab, but policy is to leave them in your car or caravan. As they are animals, this is permitted by law.
Most are happy with this, but if the dog is showing signs of being scared and there is room, we would gladly show discretion.
Hope this answers your question, fully. Jamie..

Green Flag use sub contractors for ALL recovery & road side assistance
The decision to carry dogs in the cab is down to the recovery driver or his employers company policy,
If for some reason the driver doesn’t want animals in his cab then they can always ride in the broken down vehicle or make your own way home

What are the size restrictions? we have a 7.99 m caravan.
It’s 7 metres with their normal cover. Green Flag provide the Mayday cover through the CMC which has no size restrictions but it is a lot more expensive.

So the technicians vans and the flat bed recovery trucks I see attending vehicles(ALL in Green Flag livery)are just a mirage?
