hi,does anyone tow their caravan with a citreon berlingo mines 1.6 diesel ideal alround car been towing folding caravan no bother but now got compass 2berth rallye gte about 1135kg loaded
Yes, I tow a 2005 2 berth compass omega, similar in weight to your rallye.
On hills I use the gears, it pulls steadily.
On motorways it’s stable and has power to overtake, cruises nicely.
We put the awning and groundsheet in the boot to take the weight out of the van, and load it as recommended.
The van has a Winterhoff hitch, never had issues with snaking.
It’s a little workhorse, not a speed vehicle.
Also tow the pathfinder with no issues.
We love our Berlingo.
thanks feel more confident now will soon be venturing off not far at first to get a good idea of the outfits handling although seems ok up to press
must say though we love this berlingo my wife especially on her shopping trips side doors a boon . I like driving position the room available when I take stuff to my allotment for instance and on top of everything it’s economical to run
Good Car
We have a motor mover on the caravan, I would be cautious of manoeuvring on wet grass using the car. we pull up, unhitch and then use the mover to pitch the van.
