As I commented on a previous post the car is fairly light at around 1500kg giving an 85% weight of 1275 kg which is the max MTPLM you should be aiming for as a novice tower. You haven't given much detail regarding your car so obviously your car may be slightly heavier but you are going to find it hard to purchase a 6 berth caravan as light as that.

Yes the towing limit may be 1800kg, but that is the maximum trailer weight for a hill start, it is not suggesting that you could safely tow a big white box weighing 1800kg at motorway speeds.

Have a look at the advice from the major clubs and motoring organisations which recommends that the trailer/caravan should not be heavier than the kerbweight of the car and for a novice the MTPLM of the caravan/trailer should not exceed 85% of the car's kerbweight. The 85% guide is only a guide and 86% for example would be ok but once you start getting over 90% you are getting too close to the safety limit. I've been towing for several decades and there is no way that I would feel comfortable towing 1800kg with a car that weighed 1500kg. Some insurance and breakdown companies may impose their own limits on caravan weights.

You need to check the car's kerbweight before you go any further.

You also need to check your driving licence to see what you can tow. I expect that you will need a B+E licence as you will probably be over the 3500kg gross train weight limit.

The 1800 kgs. is the maximum stress allowance that is scientifically tested before the towbar or anchor mountings fail which every manufacturer has to apply for each vehicle for safety reasons therefore has no connection whatsoever to the towing match of the vehicle's kerbweight and laden weight of the caravan.
If you ask any dealer about towing statistics they will just confirm the figures in their related handbook.
If you need constructive advice then I strongly suggest that you follow the guidelines posted by 'Rob and Tina' (above) because the advice provided is spot on.

If you're on facebook. There's a group dedicated to the CX-5 and there's some Caravaners on there. They may be able to help?. I know these guys on here are very knowledgeable, but you may get a little more personal help from the group though.
