has anyone currently or in the past towed with a vauxhall insignia 2.0cdti estate if so whats it like as a tow car ?.. i have yet to use it as a tow car due to the current situation and can,t wait until we tow our lunar 4 berth van thats only 1200kg unladen
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I had a 2012 Insignia tourer, 2.0L auto. I think I was pulling the Charisma then the Olympus. One thing that did surprise me, I had the towbar and electrics fitted professionally and when the van was hitched up the caravan lights went off when the hatch was opened. Something to do with the secondary lights inside the hatch. Not a huge problem except if you had stopped somewhere in poor light or darkness, say because you had a flat tyre, as soon as you open the hatch the rear lights on the van went off.
------------- Just saying
If all is not lost where is it then?
I had a 64 plate 2l 140 diesel manual, we towed a swift celebration 514, it towed this no problems, but as the towball limit is only 75kg it ment juggling the weight around
Never noticed any issues with lights going off, but to be fair I never towed in the dark
Hi we towed our Adria 542 uk with the insignia estate sri 2.0 cdti, and found it to be a bloody awful ride (correct hitch weight). enough power all okay at 170 bhp. and auto box, but no matter how we loaded and changed loading etc, we had a consistent unsuitability at about 60 mph. Never had this with other cars and same van at 1300 loading weight.
We had dedicated 7 pin electrics fitted, and seem to remember lights going out on van when hatch was opened. otherwise a lovely car solo drive. at 55mph, we got 30-35mpg
other than the ride towing very happy with the car, ultimately we only towed local because of instability 200 miles max.
