it has a towball limit of 90kgs, any 1800kg caravan will exceed that. what make model and year of caravan where you going to tow? what engine and year of volvo was it your asking about?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
hgv 1 licence and yes, my isonzo. bout a 16 plate,220 bhp auto. kerb weight 1860 kgs ish. weight on towball on the t5, I run between 90 and 100kgs no issues.
Firstly, you haven't specified exactly which data you are referring to so it may not be that accurate but I'm sure that with your own past towing experience I would have thought that it would have been somewhat easy to make your own calculation regarding a match. However, the Volvo XC70 as far as I'm aware has the 2.4 (5 cylinder) D5 diesel with 180 BHP and 350 nm. (258 lbs/ft.) torque delivery but I'm confident that the kerbweight would be insufficient for towing a caravan with an MTPLM of 1860 kgs. I think you need to be looking for a vehicle such as the Volvo XC90 which has a heavier kerbweight.
as previously said, car is 220bhp and Kerb weight is 1860kgs. caravan is usually only loaded to 1740 kgs,i have a wheel weight plate I use every trip. so back to original question does anyone have a xc70 and what weight do you tow.
Excuse me, but how do you know the caravan normally weighs only about about 1740kgs? Do you take it to a weighbridge before every trip? And anyway, it's the stated MTPLM that matters, and also the car's GTW.
Although Volvos were traditionally thought of as good towcars, like many they have progressivly got lighter as the years, and models have passed.

you are excused, as stated I weigh my caravan every trip with a reich caravan weight control, as I have to take van down drive on the mover I run it over this brilliant little device. the best thing ever and it is very accurate at I have confirmed on 2 local weight bridges
