Hi I have a 2008 Honda CRV EX I was towing a trailer for the first time since my tow bar was fitted now my TSA and VSA warning lights are on can anyone help me get them to turn off please
Many Thanks

Hi and welcome. Can't really help with the lights as I have no idea what they are, but my advice would be to go back to the towbar fitter and tell them what has happened. Sounds like there is a problem with the wiring.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Does the fault still occur when the trailer is not connected? This is quite a common problem on that model CRV and is often caused by a faulty brake sensor or a fault with the VSA unit. You will need to visit a Honda dealer who can interpret the fault codes.
The towbar wiring should not affect the TSA as the Honda system works independently on the car and does not rely on an electronic message from the trailer.
No the trailer isn’t connected, the warning lights go off if for example I stop at traffic lights and turn the engine off and start it again then come back on soon
If the warning lights appeared immediately after the towbar was fitted I wonder if the main wiring harness could have been damaged by the fitter. I think the only way to be certain is for a Honda dealer to do a diagnostic check for fault codes.

I had a similar problem with the airbag light on my CRV I went on Utube and rest it quite simply, below is a link to resetting the VSA and TSA it is quite simple.

Honda wanted £60 for a diagnostic check and even hinted they may need to change the airbag,it took me 10 mins to do it!

Both relate to stability. It would point to an issue with the Towbar wiring as it’s newly installed, unless it’s one of many vehicles that also needs re-coding. Either way, it looks like a trip back to the fitter. Anything other than an OE spec wiring kit is likely to give you issues.
