So, i have a 2015 Kia Sorento KX2. CRDI 2.2 manual, with a kerb weight of 1896kg.
I understand that the kerb weight is the weight if the car with a full fuel tank and a 75 kg driver.
The Gross Vehicle weight is 2510 kg.giving me a Payload of 614 kg. I weigh 85 kg, not 75 Kg so pay load is 604 kg.
I will guess my wife’s weight at 65 kg, and the dog in his crate is 20Kg
604kg— 85kg =519 kg.
Noseweight of caravan is 90 kg.
519kg— 90kg = 429kg.
Which means that I can (but I won’t) load the car with up to 429 kg.

Am i right?
Thanks
John

Plus the weight of the towbar which is not in the cars kerbweight, this is part of the payload and for me cycle roof bars and cycle carriers and the optional full size spare wheel also not in the kerbweight. So a big chunk from my 600kg payload.

This may help but on the other hand it may be completely wrong.

Braked Towing Weight 2500kg i would say no worries. Octavia 4 x 4 i have a VW Tiguan so the bit of metal they took out was heavier than the tow bar
