Have a new car and will be fitting a tow bar
I’m going to go for 13pin socket, needs to be a pre wired one, 2m length. What is the best make I can buy, buy the best do it once!
They all seem to be much of a muchness, probably made to type std, not sure why you would need a pre-wired one, the contacts are all numbered, just a case of tinning you’re wires and away you go.
Difficult question. They are probably all made in China these days and I wouldn't be surprised if the only difference is the price different retailers are charging. Unless of course anyone knows different.
New car ! new to you ? towbar are you fitting it yourself ? My new car booked it in and got the towbar fitted by a specialist. Too much hasle with all the sensors etc to do it myself.
Yep as Bob mentions, it’s a bit of a faff to fit your own tow bar these days, also with newish or new cars you really should be fitting a VSK electrics pack, which sometimes will need coding to the vehicle and unless you are a hacker you will need around £4k’s worth of kit and software to complete the job.
Gone are the days, of doing a relay lash up job, with a fist full of scotch lock connectors.
They will all be made in China all to the same spec all at the same factory. The only difference between them is the vast disparity of prices that some folks are willing to pay.
