Hi all

Looking to buy a 2014 ford kuga 2.0 tdci 163 titanium 5dr powershift automatic, and then hopefully a simple 2 berth van(or 4 birth if weights are good). Anyone know if it's a good tow car, what's the max tow limit at 85% as I'm new to towing

I have a 66 plate 2L diesel 180 AWD my caravan is 1500kg which is just over 86% only purchased it in February so have only towed with it twice but happy with it compared to the Mondeo estate it replaced

I had a 2014 titanium 2.0L diesel. The towing limit was 2100kg, I towed a 1575kg Caravan through France into Spain. It was a brilliant tow car, I changed it in 2017 and now have a 1.5 petrol which tows well but mpg is very low when towing. I am going back to The 2.0L diesel n October.

2010 Kuga 163 AWD here the best tow car I have ever owned and been towing for over 40 years
I’m currently pulling a 2011 Swift Charisma 545 with a MTPLM of 1492
I don’t think you will be disappointed
I’m due to retire in next few years and planning to upgrade to the 180 bhp model

Hi we're very new to Caravanning as previously had motorhome
Were very confused about towing waight
Were hoping to get a dacia duster the vgw is 1400 to 1500 so we understand that the caravan would have to be lighter we sound really dumb but we need advice don't want to make an expensive mistake has anyone towed a caravan with a dacia duster
The top 10 best towing cars are expansive as we're looking for a new vehicle

To the prospective Dacia Duster purchaser: we tow an older, lighter (1000kg mtplm) caravan with a Duster 130tce (that's the 2x4 1300 petrol). It tows okay with no drama. One point if you go for it - get a removable bar. We have a swan neck bar: it does affect the reversing sensors when in place. Would I have chosen the Duster if I'd known Mrs Valhalla was going to decide we needed a caravan? Possibly not, but only because we're limited a bit weight wise.

Hi, I have a 2017 Kuga Vignale AWD 180 BHP automatic, this is the best tow car I have ever owned pulls easily, very smooth and comfortable car lots of power, mine is ok to tow 2100kg my caravan weighs 1460 kg and it pulls it without any issues whatsoever, Terry.
