Used to tow one with a Rover 216 a few years back (110hp, so equivalent). Didn’t know it was there until I looked in the mirror.

We had the Fiesta for 12 years, loved it. The Rover went to one of the children.

Thanks for that. that's sorted then!
Pete
PS figures give 1000kg as Vauxhll's limit, but the 750 is nice and low %.

Used to tow a Freedom caravan with a mini metro 1.4 diesel. Admittedly diesel is better than petrol but it was a full height caravan with lots of wind resistance.

A folding camper should be much easier to tow with much less wind resistance and you have a more powerful engine.

Only word of caution, is it braked because 750kg may be a bit challenging if it's not.

Thanks navver. Most if not all folding campers of 750kg are braked.
We ain't got an Astra yet but thinking seriously of one as/when the Saab bites the bullet. Hoping for the first trip of next year with the caravan then we'll see. The messing about (cleaning etc esp the bleddy roof) is getting me down. Granted the putting up and taking down of a folder is a bit more involved than a caravan but most of it can be done without struggling up a ladder. Also the main reason that we only had a folder (Pathfinder, it was lovely) for one season was that I was still working and after coming home on a Sunday evening, if the unit had been put away wet, I couldn't set it up to dry it the next day. Would love it now, but I realise that I would probably have to go older for one of the 18 Astras to pull one with.
