Has anyone towed from T17 of the M6 toll up the A34 towards Stafford? I have my eye on Spring Paddock CL at Bednall Head (not Bendall as it states in the CAMC book) we know Stafford but not Cannock.
That looks like a great little site, especially with the dogs - may have to use that one ourselves on our trips south (and back home).
Well spotted Mrs B!
Pick up the signs for Rugeley/Hednesford and follow on dual carriageway over islands until you come to island by the tip with new designer outlet in front. Keep in left hand lane and turn for Cannock town then pick up signs for Stafford A34.Alternateively go A5 west through two sets of traffic lights past Finning/CAT dealer to next island and turn right carry on to town and pick up Stafford signs. You dont want to pick up Cannock town signs straight from Toll exit as that will take you through a height restricted bridge (plenty of height for caravan but oncoming lorries in middle of road).
What Agri says, although personally I'd say the second option of following A5 west was the simpler one. You just have to go straight over 2 sets of traffic lights and turn right at the first roundabout, which also has a Shell petrol station on its right-hand corner.
That stretch of the A34 is mostly single carriageway apart from a short stretch of dual in Cannock town centre. The road goes through the town followed immediately by a couple of suburbs and the 30mph speed limit feels like it goes on for e...v...e...r... but all of it is plenty wide enough to tow on easily.
