After retiring working with trailers here is a tip to stop a common problem with any trailer or caravan that can cause an accident.
Jockey wheel retaining clamp can work loose with pot wholes and concrete motorway driving due to vibration.
Easy fix, after locking jockey wheel clamp take a bungee strap hook under the the jockey wheel frame wrap around the chassis and hook the other end back on the jockey wheel frame.
I personally have seen several caravans with jockeys wheels running on the road surface and experienced one break up and go into a truck's windscreen on a concrete motorway surface.
That is very good advice. I have had a jockey wheel come loose once like that, fortunately I realised before I had gone far and no damage or harm was done. It's always a good idea to carry some bungee straps anyway as they can come in very handy, especially for something like this.

Colin
