Hi, sorry if this has been asked before. I have a swift challenger 480se 2002 2 birth. Its the first van i have had with the wardrobe on the nearside rear 2 feet from the back of the caravan.
My question is if the wardrobe is loaded with cloths hung up will this cause the van to sway more or will it not really affect it much. I assume when these vans where designed it would have been taken into account. I do understand heavy article go on the floor over the axle and only light things may be stored higher up, just wondering about the weight of clothes on one corner and weather i should lay the cloths on the seats.
I'd be happy with them in the wardrobe. Of course it will make a difference but it will be so small you won't notice.
With regards to snaking the biggest problem now is going down hill on the motorway. That always makes the outfit less stable. I always slow to 50mph downhill.
The old bad problem was coaches flying past at high speed with a huge bow wave of air but I think thy must be limited now as they don't seem to any more.
I just carry everything I need in the place it should be. Water in the tank & water in the toilet flush that way we can stop anytime for a cuppa & food & toilet of course. Tows no probs at all.
My last caravan a 2012 Sprite Alpine 4, had around 35kg at the very rear of the caravan and with 75kg noseweight towed very well. Under the rear fixed bed at the very back was the battery box with a 25kg battery, in front of that was the water heater. Now a Compass Omega with a rear washroom and a big wardrobe, clothes are in there on hangers or a bag, again 75kg noseweight and tows very well and stable.
