Hi we at Newberry Valley in Coombe Martin this weekend. Looking at the directions we have 2 choices however my friend has mentioned they ended up driving through Ilfracombe High Street which was horrendous fir towing caravan. Has anyone done this site & recommend the heater of the routes? We coming from a Bude campsite so it’s A39 .
I would suggest down the M5 to J27 Tiverton and take the A361 to South Molton then A399. The shorter route along the north coast of Devon with a caravan would be a very brave choice, others may call it something else.
The A361 is a good dual carriageway.
Sorry just spotted you are starting from Bude, I assumed Lytham.
Hi Navver yes we are already in Bude this week. We went a drive over that way this afternoon. Was horrendous in parts. Doesn’t help thst cars and works can we’re all parked on double yellows in the narrow places & no one was getting them moved. Despite the good reviews of site I’m sorry I booked it thanks to the road.
If you`re towing then follow the A39 through Barnstaple heading towards Lynton until you get to Blackmoor Gate, take a left to A399 and follow through to and through Coombe Martin. A399 is a bit twisty but as good a road into Coombe Martin as you`ll get.

That's the way we have gone many times. The Street down Coombe Martin goes on forever, said to be the longest street in the UK. So be prepared to pull in behind parked cars when vehicles appear from opposite direction as it is not very wide road.
