Hi
Just wondering if anyone tows with this car and what they think of it. I pull a Bailey Orion 430-4 and on paper it's well up to it. I'd love to hear your opinions.
The Sckoda Octavia, together with the mechanically very similar VW Golf are highly rated as towing vehicles for suitably light caravans, and you should have nothing to be concerned about provided that, as you say, the weight of your caravan is suitable.
It's not clear whether you have the car already or if you are contemplating buying one, but if the latter a full service history is key. If it doesn't have one, look for another that has - there are lots around. The VW 2.0 TDI engines are normally good for big mileages if looked after but have been known to fail expensively if neglected.

WE have towed for years with our Octavia. Pulls like a dream and gives us 40 mpg when doing so. You will have no problems and a very large boot to bring home all the wine.
Hi Shay,
It would be interesting to find out the model and spec of your octavia?
I have towed with a couple of skodas and my mum is now on her 6th passat, all diesels and all good towcars.
Is the 115 BHP a greenline or other lower powered model as i thought most 2.0 TDIs were higher powered ?
don't hold your breath waiting for a reply. this person has been on here for years posted 4 times all questions and never thanked anyone for their advice.
Hi. So I'll take it that It's a good bet to buy the Octavia. 😁 I've been towing with a Kia feed 1.6 diesel for a few years and it's a great tow car. Thanks SamandRose, SGThomas, Skip66 and Bessie500 for your help and advice.Im It's very much appreciated. I'm a paramedic with the NHS ambulance service and were out the door busy atm so haven't had the time to check back in till now.
