Hi all going to North Cornwall later in the year and about to plan stops, can anyone recommend Strensham Services as a good place to stop towing a caravan and needing somewhere to walk our dogs, thanks in advance
cliff, we always use Strensham on our way south. It can be a bit tight on the proper caravan parking to the left especially if you have a big outfit. Otherwise, we use the lorry park. Tend to use it just for a toilet stop. There is also a fair bit of grassy area to the side of the caravan parking for dogs rather than just a strip by the car park.
I love Gloucester Services, both North and South, so we stop there en route to most trips south. They are pretty new and do Motorway Services the way they should be done.
Dave.
------------- Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day,
Teach a man to fish and you can get rid of him for a whole weekend.
I've used Strensham North a couple of years back, specifically because it had dedicated caravan parking and with somewhere for the dog to stretch her legs. Really liked the single unit drive in - drive out parking bays (reversing is a nightmare when on your own with no one to ensure your blind spot is clear). Didn't use the facilities, so can't comment, always pack lunch and use onboard loo to avoid leaving van unattended.
From Google (streetview/satellite) Gloucester looks very good.
We normally stop at Gloucester but looking at an over night stop around Weston Supermare so Strensham would split the journey up but might just run on down to Gloucester thanks for the replies

Gloucester services around junctions 11 -12 are far superior with plenty of area to walk dogs. Plenty of space fo parking up with caravans.
Agree with Ian, Gloucester is very good dedicated caravan parking and space for the dogs.
Michael Wood around junction 14 caravan parking and small grass area just opposite (but you have to cross the traffic coming into the services.
Taunton Deane around junction 25/26, parking in the lorry parking area with a stretch of grass to walk the dogs.

Gloucester Services is the place to stop, far better than Strensham.
They are owned and run by the same people who run Tebay Services on M6.
There are dog walks on site.
They are the only 2 motorway services we ever stop at.

We can recommend Stonebridge Farm which ash fully serviced level pitches and more than enough room for dogs to run around. Not far off the motorway either.
Glad that Stonebridge Farm has been mentioned we're staying there in April.
If you wont to travel a little further on before stopping then Greenacres Touring Park Wellington or the Minnows Touring Park Tiverton. Both are really close the the motorway and very nice parks.
