Our car was serviced in September 2021 at 12 month, but then in July 2022 when the dealer we bought it from acquired it. Now it is showing that it needs a service. Would much prefer deferring until September when the first MOT is also due.
Does anyone know if this is ok? If so, how do you override and reset the system?
I believe only the dealer can reset the parameters.
It will also depend on if there is any leeway with regards to the upkeep of the service record re Hyundai warranty.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
You should be able to reset the service schedule via the info buttons on the steering wheel. I can, on my MK3.
All the instructions will be in the owner handbook somewhere! (I know it's a huge book with 500+ pages! )
------------- I came into this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
If the warranty stipulates that the car must be serviced every 12 months, then by waiting until September you will be contravening the terms of the warranty.
If it is a 2021 model or later, on the main screen go into setup ,then vehicle, then cluster, the service interval reset is shown on this screen, the video shows how to do this
Thanks, I pointed out that when the dealer acquired the car, they serviced it in July, but the service was not actually due until September. Obviously we don't want to contravene the warranty...so what do we do? It's an 07, 2020 model.
The only person that can tell you with 100% certainty is your dealer.

Thanks, anyway, it will be serviced tomorrow. Annoying as there will always be 2 months between service and MOT (first one is due in September).
There is nothing stopping you have the MOT done at the same time as when the service is done. In future all MOT and servicing will be at the same time. We would never have the dealer do the MOT as they always out source it anyway and charge you extra.

Really, All the dealers I use and have used in the past do it on their own premises. Why would they outsource it? They make money from repairs.
