Hi, what are your opinions on the best breakdown cover for car plus caravan for two weeks in France?
We have breakdown cover for our car in the UK linked to our bank account and waiting to hear back from AA about whether we can upgrade. Just wondering about costs with different companies. I've had a Google and one called Voyager is coming in at under £50 for two weeks cover but don't want to go 'cheap' and find out to our cost that it's for a reason. We are not members of the Caravan club so those options probably won't be an option..Red Pennant is one I think.
Thanks

Red Pennant is through the CAMC and worth it's weight in gold, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Don't go cheap you will regret it, we did.

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Most car breakdown policies only cover car and caravan if it can be towed behind the breakdown lorry. If it is the caravan breaks down ie say wheel bearing and cannot be towed then they are not covered. Best advice is a caravan club policy for belt and braces cover.

So if we join the caravan and motorhome club and buy breakdown insurance through them is there a preference to which level you'd recommend.
We've holidayed abroad on campsites many times in mobile homes but never taking our own caravan and don't want to get caught out if something goes wrong. We're only actually towing for around 50 miles from Roscoff to Perros Guirac then returning to Roscoff after two weeks. Not like were towing far but sod's law and all that! plus need cover for our car for time we're over there.
What are the benefits of joining the club? I'm stuck with school holiday times as work in a school so can't take advantage of cheaper times during the year.
Sorry for so many questions 🙂

Just Google camhc red pennant, there should be a comparison of cover table, make your own decision as to which suits you best there are only 2 levels available standard and plus the plus doubles most of what the standard offers but you can't have the plus if the vehicle is over 12 years old, Hope this helps.
Have joined the Caravan and Motorhome club and got the insurance with Red Pennant. Think that's everything covered now...thanks for all the tips and info. Love these forums and all the knowledge.
