Just picked up the new car Kuga 2.5 FHEV Line edition and there is no available mottled or shaded area behind the interior mirror. Emovis advice is to contact the manufacturer to ascertain if the windscreen is an athermic/metallic windscreen. If it is the advice is to hold the tag out of the window. The mottled area is completely taken up by mount of the interior rear view mirror. Any others had similar issues?
I would just put it to the left(looking from inside) of the mirror mount.
Or along beside the passenger A pillar.

Thanks, the other cars I have had all had sufficient room on the mottled area but on this Kuga there is absolutely no room. I was thinking of mounting it on the the clear glass area left of the windscreen mount making it easy for the passenger to remove and wave it through the window to allow signal to pass if needed. I am told that Ford uses "Quickclear" technology that is minute metal strips in the windscreen. I am told that "Athermic" uses small particles of silver and titanium in the laminated glass. I suspect both methods will interfere with the signal.
I would have thought that the tag people will have thought of all eventualities.
I mean there will be tens of thousands of French drivers with new cars using a tag.

I'll find out for sure if I have problems in July and will report further then. My towcar is my wife's motability vehicle so I change it and we have a new one every three every three years. I've used the tabs on a Seat, 2 Insignias, and a Focus all of which had plenty of space for the transponder mount.
I think it unlikely that you will have a problem. Like your Kuga, the shaded area on my Alfa is completely covered by the mirror housing. I just placed my Humber Bridge tag at the top of the screen on the driver's side next to the mirror housing and it works perfectly.
If the Emovis tag holder is the same as the Humbertag (I think it is)and you place it on the passenger side, make sure you leave enough room next to the mirror housing to pull the tag out or alternatively fit it upside down so you can remove the tag to the left.
Thanks the emovis mount sounds to be the sameEmovis advice I had to be careful re the positioning to allow removal of the transponder on my last car a Focus you make a very valid point.
