Hi,we're currently running a Skoda Kodiaq but it's seven years old and would like to change it.
We are liking the look of the Kia and we're wondering if anyone has any stories good or bad about this model.
Love the Skoda but last years DSG gearbox problem while on holiday has put us off towing very far with it now and we're reluctant to buy another one now.

Nothing but positives for the Kia Sorento - now on our 3rd (1 manual and 2 automatic) 2.2 diesel.
The 7 year warranty is very reassuring, even though we have only ever made 1 minor claim. Excellent tow car and good mpg considering the weight.
If you are considering the Sportage, I believe from this year the diesel is discontinued.

We have a 66 plate Sorento and it is a great towcar. If you buy from new, the 7 year warranty is excellent. We have only had 1 problem with it since we bought it and that was in year 6 when the turbo actuator failed. The car was still under warranty and was fixed with no quibbles.

There is only one small thing that annoys me about it and that is the location of the spare wheel so not something that would put me off buying another one. Rather than being in a cutout under the boot, it is slung under the car. We bought an extra anti theft device which gives a bit of peace of mind but I would prefer to have it under the boot. I am assuming this is not possible in the Sorento due to the 3rd row of seats that fold down into the space where a spare wheel would usually fit.

We would definitely buy another one.

Although having towed with Sorento and Santa Fe Automatics for 20years and been a big supporter of them I have now changed to Ford Kuga Auto and it drives solo and tows superior to the Kia’s and Hyundai. Worth looking at and lower road tax.

Bought a 72 plate last Septemberr. Pleased with in preference to my unreliable Audi Q5 ( long story!) only done 6k miles in it so far. Problem with the AdBlue in March was fixed under warranty - parts took a couple of weeks bu cr was deemed ok to drive. Courtesy car for day it was fixed - 5 hours in workshop plus parts - they seemed oddly uncommunicative as to the actual parts but I know one was a sensor.

They may have been deliberately cagey about parts and system fault, keeping details away from users, as not exactly an unknown hack for people to bypass the system to save having to use Ad-Blue at all, no point in educating even more people in the ways and means to do so!

Kia still do a diesel, just facelifted and 3 models. We looked at changing our 2016 Santa Fe for one last year. At the time they only did the diesel as top of the range which was a bit too pricey.
Now more affordable in lower specification.
We got a Tucson hybrid which is very good and just under £40k so lower VED.
Might go for one in a year or two.

Springside Kia are also reluctant to deal with cars not bought from them.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!

We bought the Sorento and are very happy with it (hubby has a couple of niggles with it but nothing serious)
Just back at lunchtime after our first proper tow with it and pleased with the performance averaging 32mpg.
It was a little sluggish in eco mode getting out our drive with a little bit of an incline and hooked up with the van when hubby took it on a solo test drive last week. On Friday he pulled away with it in sport mode and that made a difference.
All in all it's a very nice car and we are looking forward to many more trips with it.

Very pleased for you.
We found it took a little while trying the different modes till we found the one that suited us.
