We are at Much Wenlock and want to get to Horley near Banbury. The quickest way is via Kidderminster. Does anyone know this route and know about towing around Kidderminster?
Where possible we avoid going through Kidderminster at anytime even solo. We now know which roads to avoid. The ring road can be very busy most times and it is only two lanes. Use Satnav as I don't think signage is very good. You need to get through to pick up M5 to get onto M40. You may be better.
The other option is to head to Telford and pick up the motorway, then onto M6, onto M5 and then M40 to wards Banbury. Slightly longer but may be quicker as between Much Wenlock and Kidderminster you will get stuck behind tractors as it is harvest season. Yesterday I was stuck behind a tractor for several miles travelling at 25mph on average. There was no way we could overtake.
We go to,the M5 and M40 via Kidderminster but now don't use the ring road. It's OK but does get busy.
We have found an easier route which goes around the edge of Kidderminster.

We go on the A442 from Telford past Bridgnorth staying on this road then turn left on the B4193 to,Wolverley. Stay on that road through Wolverley until you come to the traffic lights where it joins the A449,go right toward Kidderminster.
There are a couple of speed cameras!Be careful.
At first small roundabout go straight on second one bear left up,a hill with theatre on right. Go straight across first set of lights at second set, take left lane by a big pub on left. Turn left onto the Birmingham Road which,I think is A456. Stay on that road through Blakedown and West Hagley which eventually brings you to a big roundabout where you go right to the M5 Then to M40.
We have used it lots of times with our van, it's not as bad as the ring road.
It's well signed for motorway.
