Hi ya new to the site, if i can offer vany advice consider a Kia sorrento, we are on our second one as we liked it so much, pulls with ease and in our opinion a better all round car. ps we had a Ford Maverick on a 94 plate and although good workhorse etc, still no comparison

what about the Xtrail ????

ps New caravan on order Bailey Senator Carolina twin axle, cant wait till april :-)

Cheers

Soozie

I think you were told a bit of a porky about the replacement cost of your clutch on your Maverick. We had ours serviced today and enquired about the cost of a replacement clutch. New clutch £150 and 6-7 hours labour + vat, well under a thousand and that is at a Ford Main dealer.

Our maverick is an N reg that has now done 110k and is still a very reliable car. Since we bought it, about 5/6 years ago, very few garage visits apart from services and no signs of rust etc.

We love ours and even though we no longer tow, have not thought of changing it.

i think this web site is just fab, and look forward to a good old read. on the point of MPG, lets be honest can you get it on any car. i actually get as good as fuel economy driving with van on back, as my wife (whos car it is)does solo........... think it must be to do with the lead in her shoes. (LOL) incidently my Saab 2.2 TDi only gets on average 37MPG sure the book says higher. (boy Racer at Heart)

one of fionas work mates logged all the fuel costs over a year and put them in a data base and they got no where near the reccomended mpg but i think when the manufacturers state the mpg it is done on flat tarmac on normal cars they dont take into account wind, hills and the amounts of personall stuff like buggies and other bits and bobs left in a car that every family takes and bums on every seat in car do you think this makes a difference or does the manufactures take this into account
