Hi

Could any Cherokke Jeep owners advise me of what Tow bar they have fitted to their car. I currently have a Witter bar on my Jeep and I am having problems towing my van. (snaking at 55mph) The current bar is only capable of 80kg nose weight.

Im only towing a Sterling Europa 540 (2006) which has MTPLM of 1441kg. With this car its only 71% of the kerb weight. We have also tried loads of different ways of loading the van and car. Checked all tyre pressures (car and van) and have an Alko stabiliser.

Help and advise Please

Thanks

Mandy

Is the height correct, this is a problem on lots of 4x4's and the ball may require lowering.

Mandy-sorry to hear you are still having problems- ours is a Westfalia detatchable towbar & as said before we have no probs. Referring to Baz above- Mopar is the "Jeep" official accessory brand so should be available at the dealers.

See you all soon, Bernard

We're currently on our 5th Jeep. The first was a Cherokee, the rest Grands. All have had official Jeep towbars supplied and fitted by our Jeep dealer, and all have towed twin-axles without any problem whatsoever.
So I would suggest you have 3 areas for checking; your Jeep's rear end,(springs etc), the towbar, or the caravan, as the cars are excellent tow vehicles.

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!
