I'm with you all the way Vic, I change my tyres regularly too as well as removing them for the winters. Folk calling for vans to be taxed is silly, tax is for self propelled vehicles not trailers!!
Common sense & patience makes good caravanners, as long as the driver "Knows" he's able to stop his outfit doing whatever it's doing at any given moment then he's in control. That's what was drummed into me by my HGV instructor 30 years ago & I've always remembered his words.
I'll go along with a certficate of roadworthiness being issued at the point of professional yearly servicing but any more rules would be silly.
