I'd take the vehicle straight to a towbar centre & have it checked out, you may find you've bought a pig in a bag. For the sake of your own safety, you need to get it checked over. It might just need drilling & bolting where it's welded or it could turn out to be the wrong towbar for the car.
Alternatively, you may need to get a proper job done of fitting the towbar. To be honest, with so many cars on the market today, I havent bought one with a towbar on it on purpose. At least I know the car hasn't had the guts pulled out of it. I get the dealer I buy from to get the towbar fitted & included in the sale of the car, it then has it's place on the cars warranty.
I wish you well with it.
