Hi Dave
I tow with an Audi A6 1.9TDI Estate, I am pulling a 17' Abbey Piper for a long van its a lightweight at 1160 kg fully laden. Tows fine; as everyone else will advise, load sensible, check nose weight before every trip, use stabaliser and drive steady, cant comment on fuel consumption as I just fill the tank when I need to. You will have no problem with your rig.
One negative about the Audi is the ride is very low solo, so when hitched up it drives even lower which is another reason fo checking nose weight before hitching up avoid unneccesary scrapes with stabaliser hitch and sleeping ploicemen.
Hope this is helpful, John.
