Difficult question! How long is a piece of string?
What size is it? Has it been serviced regularly, cambelt changes?

Portugese taxis, generally big Mercs, seem to start their lives with 300,000 km on the clock. (Never seen one with less)
Well maintained and driven 200k miles could be achieved, for the average family diesel, but at those miles the rest of the vehicle would be worn out without expensive maintenance?
I one heard of a chap who lived in London but commuted every other week-end to Edinburgh on an Honda 50. With regular service and extra oil changes engines can be nurtured into exceptional longevity. He had 100k on his Honda.

To be honest TandT, I'd not think anything about a volvo with high milage on it as long as you could see it had been serviced as & when. However, Volvo estates must be about the most popular estate car out there & the market place is flooded with them. Tap into www.autotrader.co.uk & seach volvo, you'll have them in abundance. Go on the Volvo website & click on used cars & you'll see every approved used volvo in your chosen distance. Therefore, unless you have the chance of one you know of old & at the right money you'll not find it hard to locate another. I'm only waiting for my old Peugeot estate to peg out & I'll be getting a V70 estate for work myself, I love them.

My brother in law used to buy them from a local dealership with that sort of mles and use them as taxis , but they would have good history.

If it helps I drive a 850 estate with the 2500 20valve engine manual box with 208K on it and going strong. I bought it 4 years ago with 120K and a full Volvo history. Since then i have it serviced when it starts to run a bit rough but do change the cambelt every 40K. I have now started getting into the habit of oil and filter change every 5K. Let me down a couple of times but nothing major. Best towcar ever had. I tow a 1990 Abbey Lancaster and with my rig comes in at 73% kerbside weight - tow for days. !!
