Hi,

We are buying a bigger caravan next year, and are considering getting a 4 x 4 to tow with.

We were originally considering a Lanrover Freelander, but the reviews don't seem too good.

Can anyone tell me how the Santa Fe performs as a towing car, and of any other info on these vehicles.

There are one or two threads on them, have you tried doing a search?

I'm dreaming of buying hubby a Kia Sorento.....but a dream it will remain unless I win the lotteryHe's happy with the Vectra though.

Have noticed quite a few of those Santa Fe jobbies towing though, so they must be half decent?

 I've got the 2.0l diesel, and I've had no problems at all with it. I get 44mpg solo and 33mpg towing.The only complaint I've got is that I have to watch my speed, my van has a max weight of 1380kg. I will definitely get another Hyundai. The noly complaint I can think of is the carpets are very thin.

 Hi Batt i've owned a sante fe for the past 12 months, i wanted something with a bit of weight to it but also good on fuel both solo and towing a 6 berth and you can pick them up at a good price, kerb weight is around 1780kg just come back from devon put £50 and got 300 miles towing 1500kg van thats on the 2lt diesel, they run 60/40 permenent 4 wheel drive 60 on the front, feels very steady and sure footed,I've been thinking of beefing up the rear springs with mad springs at about £70 because theres a little sag which i've noticed on  my own and other sante fe's towing, A little more power just to get rolling would be nice but what do you expect from a 2lt All though this is my first 4x4 for what i paid £8600 on a 52 plate 27000 miles 12 month ago i would  recomend.
