I have just purchased a 2.9 diesel Kia Sedona L for pulling my caravan.  The car does not have air con.  The air vent behind the middle row of seats on the drivers side only puts out hot air.  There are 2 seperate air flow controls one for the rear and one for the front.  I can put the front onto cold air and get cold air out the front vents  but the back still puts out hot air.

If anyone has a Kia Sedona can you tell me if this is the same as yours or do I have a fault.

Cheers !!!!

There is a button on the dashboard near the heating controls which switches the heat on or off for the rear system. It is not obvious when it is switched on as the indicator light cannot be seen on the button easily.

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your reply.  Cant find the switch you mentioned.  Its an 03 Sedona.  As I look at the dashboard there is the knob on the left hand side which controls the air speed for the front, then to the right of that is the button for air to circulate and next to that a button for bringing the air in from  outside.  To the right of that there is the knob which controls the air speed for the back.  There is a blank button which does nothing and is not connected to anything to the left of the button which circulates the air.

I wonder if my car does not have the option of puting cold air through the back air vent although it is a little strange how I can put cold out the front vents but the rear must be hot air at the same time.

Cheers

from what i can remember the temp that is chosen for the front is what is distributed to the back as well, the control on the right is just to regulate the fan speed, the button chrisnkim mentions is for the aircon.

The button should have HTR RR on it with a little orange light on it

this is next to the rear interior light switch above the rear fan blower

when its switched ON the heat comes from the floor

when button is switched OFF fresh air comes  from the roof .
