Hi, we are looking to change our car and like the look of the Audi but are unsure about towing.  Has anyone any experience/ advice they could give us.  We tow a caravan weighing about 1800kg in total.

We used to have an Audi A6 2.5TDi with a V6 engine and it was a great tow car. We towed all round France and Switzerland a couple of years ago with no problems whatsoever. I was sorry to see it go when my husband decided to trade it in for a 4 x 4. We ended up with a Mitsubishi Shogun Sport Equippe. Nice looking car, but horrible to travel in and it wouldnt pull you out of bed.We kept it for four months and traded it in for Discovery. I love the disco and this is the second one we have had, but the Audi was a more comfortable vehicle to travel in. It it is going to be your main car, then you have to think of the times when you are not towing. We are lucky enough to have a Ford Focus for everyday travel to work for me as it is a bit of a journey every day.

Hi, thanks for all the advice.  I spoke to the chap at the C&CC club who said our best bet would be another 4x4 so we now have, or will next week, a VW Toureg
